Hello. My name is Revival Fardhiah. I came from Banda Aceh, Indonesia,
one beautiful country in South East Asia. Since July 2008, I have been
in Maryville College, Tennessee. It is a liberal art college that offers
the beautiful view of The Great Smoky mountains. It is also the place
where I’ve taken the Teaching English As second Language (TESL) as my
major and minor in psychology.
During my experience, i found out so many new things: academic
experience, social life and the multiculturalism which make me become
more open-minded and flexible. These new insight and knowledge change my
perspective about life especially about how to see the diversity not as
the place to judge who is better or not, but, how this diversity brings
the people together as the world’s citizen.
After graduation, i am hoping that i can work as the English teacher
with diverse group because i am really interested in intercultural
communications to see how unique each culture. instead, i also put
attention on the youth community or the kids activities which are relate
to my academic background.
I believe that a good teacher is the teacher that can motivate the
students, enhance their interest in learning and put the trust on them
that every students are unique, they grow with different skill.
This is my blog where i put some of my thought relate to my experience
studying in Maryville College. Some of the ideas and strategies are the
good resources for me to build the confidence in my self as well as my
students.
